Marmara Research Center is the largest research center under TUBITAK The Chemistry and Environment Institute (CEI) and is one of the research institutes in MRC. Pollution prevention of water resources, innovative wastewater treatment, reuse and recycling, membrane technologies, anaerobic treatment, decentralized management, low-cost treatment systems, monitoring and upgrading of WWTPs and sewerage systems are specifically focused. The activities include projects in the fields of water, sediment, and biota contaminant modelling; characterization of inland and coastal waters; eutrophication studies; ecotoxicology; and development of management plans.
