Melbourne Water Corporation – Australia

Melbourne Water Corporation (MWC) is responsible for Melbourne’s water supply catchments, wastewater treatment, as well as the management of rivers, creeks and major drainage systems through the Port Phillip and Westernport region (Melbourne’s catchments). They are in the rare but important situation of having an integrated responsibility across the urban and rural water cycle. They are currently managing AU$8.4 billion worth assets in water supply, sewerage and drainage systems in Melbourne. They are also responsible for 8000 kilometers of waterways, including 99 natural and constructed wetlands and 54 urban lakes. In protecting and improving Melbourne's rivers and creeks, our apparitional goal is to have all natural rivers and creeks in good or better condition by 2025.
